Our Commitments

Humanist Beauty believes we have a responsibility to be a better beauty brand. We will always stand for radical inclusivity. We will never shortcut quality, integrity, or safety. We will make the world a better place in everything we do. We’re honored that our parent company, The Human Beauty Movement, is a Certified B Corporation and an active member of the B Corp Beauty Coalition, reinforcing our promise to prioritize people and planet over profits, always acting as a force for good.

Giving Back

The spirit of compassion for the sick, the weak, the marginalized and the poor lives at the heart of Humanist Beauty. We raise funds for charities such as Gates Philanthropy Partners, Change.org, The Trevor Project, and the Asian Mental Health Collective. We commit to donating 3% of gross revenues – not net revenues or net profits – to well-vetted 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that improve the well-being of under-served and disadvantaged humans and accelerate environmental progress.

Mindfully Sourcing Ingredients

We make our own Herban Wisdom® formulas from scratch, and we will never cut corners when it comes to the quality and wholesomeness of the ingredients we use. Every single ingredient used in every single product is carefully scrutinized for benefit, safety, and ethical sourcing.

• Our Herban Wisdom^® formulas are made with naturally-derived ingredients, many of which are cultivated using organic farming practices.
• Both the Herban Wisdom^® Facial Oil and Eye Cream are EWG Verified, certified to be among the safest in the beauty industry.
• We disclose ALL ingredients, even incidental ones, even though the law doesn’t require it.
• We never add parabens, synthetic preservatives, petroleum derivatives, dyes, artificial fragrances, phthalates, GMOs or known carcinogens to our formulas.

Responsible Packaging

We strive to use the most environmentally conscientious packaging options we can.

• The majority of our packaging is made of glass and paperboard, which can be recycled.
• We use post-consumer recycled paper-based packaging for our shipping materials and do not use plastic void fill or plastic shipping tape.
• We strive to minimize our use of virgin plastic and seek to further reduce usage of virgin plastic componentry as we grow.
• We signed the #StopSingleUse Pledge to Reduce Single-Use Plastic sponsored by Credo Beauty. As such, we will never offer single-use sample sachets, face masks, facial wipes, or other mono-dose products that contribute to excess beauty packaging waste.

Respecting the Environment

We uphold environmentally-friendly operations and measure our impact as part of the B Corporation certification criteria.

• We seek environmentally friendly ingredient sourcing in our formulas.
• We are a carbon-neutral operation – we offset all greenhouse gas emissions, including all shipping, through Offset Alliance for renewable energy and land trust investments. We are leveraging the tools of the SME Climate Hub as we join the United Nation’s Race to Zero campaign to be Net Zero by 2030.
• Our executive office is committed to recycling paper, plastic, aluminum, glass and e-waste.
• We offer a free Zero Waste Program to recycle beauty packaging in partnership with TerraCycle.

We don’t believe there’s a reason for the inhumane treatment of animals for the sake of cosmetics products. It just doesn’t make any sense to us.

• Humanist Beauty formulas are certified cruelty-free by the Leaping Bunny program.
• All Herban Wisdom^® skincare formulas are vegan.
